Platform Overview

Understanding the SIPLACE X Series Platform

The original SIPLACE X Series is an established modular placement platform found in many long-running SMT production lines. This page focuses on the X4, X3 and X2 machine families, not the newer SIPLACE X-Series S models.

Selecting an X4, X3 or X2 Machine

The main structural difference between SIPLACE X4, X3 and X2 is the number of placement gantries. X4 provides four gantries, X3 provides three, and X2 provides two. Machine selection should also consider the installed heads, conveyor arrangement, feeder tables, software version and current equipment condition.

Machines carrying the same X Series model designation can have different 20-nozzle, 12-nozzle, 6-nozzle or TwinHead combinations. They may also use different conveyor and component-supply configurations, so the machine label and installed hardware should be reviewed before quotation.

Information to Confirm Before Selection

  • Required X4, X3 or X2 machine model
  • Installed placement-head type on each gantry
  • Single conveyor or flexible dual conveyor
  • PCB dimensions, thickness and weight
  • Component range, including small and odd-shaped parts
  • Required feeder quantity and tape widths
  • Software version and line communication requirements
  • Machine condition, manufacturing year and destination
Model Comparison

SIPLACE X4, X3 and X2 Comparison

The models share the same modular platform concept but use different gantry counts. Output, component range and line suitability depend on the placement-head combination, conveyor configuration and condition of the actual machine.

Machine Model Gantry Configuration Typical Line Role Placement-Head Options What Must Be Verified Supply Status

Legacy Platform Value

Why SIPLACE X Series Machines Remain Valuable

For factories already operating the original X Series, compatible used machines and spare parts can support capacity expansion, equipment replacement and continued production without redesigning the entire line.

01

Existing Line Expansion

Add matching capacity to an installed X Series line while retaining familiar feeders, processes and operator workflows.

02

Cost-Controlled Replacement

Replace a failed or aging machine with a compatible used unit instead of changing the complete production platform.

03

Feeder and Parts Reuse

Continue using compatible feeder inventory, nozzle tooling and selected line-side accessories where configuration permits.

04

Maintenance Continuity

Legacy Support requiring conveyor review, large-board handling and precise warpage compensation processes.

Placement Heads and Parts

Head, Feeder and Spare-Parts Support for SIPLACE X Series

The original X Series supports multiple Collect & Place head configurations and TwinHead options. Machine labels, head types, feeder interfaces and original part numbers should be checked before matching replacement components.

Supply Process

From X Series Requirement to Delivery

Used X Series equipment should be verified by complete machine configuration, installed hardware and current condition rather than model designation alone.

01

Production Review

Confirm the existing line, required model, PCB range, feeder inventory, production target and replacement purpose.

02

Model Selection

Compare X4, X3 and X2 structures and identify the required gantry, head, conveyor and feeder configuration.

03

Machine Verification

Review labels, installed heads, conveyor arrangement, software information, photos and available test details.

04

Packing and Delivery

Confirm included equipment, feeder packages, export packing, shipment details and destination requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

SIPLACE X Series Machine Questions

Common information about original SIPLACE X4, X3 and X2 machines, placement heads, feeders, software compatibility and used-equipment supply.

No. This page covers the original SIPLACE X4, X3 and X2 platform. SIPLACE X-Series S uses the later X4S, X3S and X2S model names and should be handled on a separate series page.

The main original platform variants are SIPLACE X4, X3 and X2, corresponding to four, three and two placement gantries. Individual machines may have different placement heads and conveyor configurations.

Used and refurbished X4, X3 and X2 machines may be available according to inventory. The machine label, head combination, conveyor, software version, condition and included accessories should be confirmed individually.

Depending on machine generation and configuration, the original X Series may use 20-nozzle, 12-nozzle or 6-nozzle Collect & Place heads and SIPLACE TwinHead options.

The platform was designed to support 01005 processes, but actual capability depends on the installed 20-nozzle head, suitable feeders and nozzles, software level, calibration and production conditions.

Feeder packages depend on the quotation. A machine may be supplied separately or matched with compatible SIPLACE X feeders according to tape width, feeder quantity and existing line requirements.

Feeders, placement heads, nozzles, motors, boards, sensors, cameras, cables and other components can be matched using the complete machine model, original part number, installed position and photos.

Please provide the required X4, X3 or X2 model, machine-label photos, installed head types, conveyor configuration, feeder requirement, equipment condition, destination country and whether the request is for replacement or capacity expansion.
